Simon Korman

I am a faculty member of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Haifa. My research is in the field of computer vision and machine learning.

Previously, I was a postdoc at the Weizmann Institute, supervised by Ronen Basri and a postdoc at UCLA supervised by Stefano Soatto.

I completed my PhD working with Shai Avidan at Tel-Aviv University, my MSc with Uriel Feige at the Weizmann Institute and I hold a BSc in mathematics and computer science from the Hebrew University.

Research Interests

I am interested in wide range of core computer-vision related tasks. My focus is on settings that are challenging in terms of: (i) data scarcity (e.g. few-shot learning) (ii) stability and efficiency in training (e.g. GAN, diffusion models, NeRFs, contrastive learning) (iii) real-world artifacts/conditions (e.g. noise, blur, occlusion, attenuation, deformation, outliers) (iv) large search-spaces (e.g. matching, retrieval).
